Paper Quilling
With this project we were able to talk a little bit about what 3-D means. 3-D is not flat but "pops" out at you. I introduced the technique of paper quilling. The students took a think strip of construction paper and rolled it up around a pencil to create the quills. When they let go the paper is rolled up like a spiral. The students' artwork has variety as we used different colors and created different sizes of quills to fill up the background.
